When you think safari lodge, you probably don’t think West Midlands. But a park in Worcestershire, England, is the new place to head if you want to spend the night snoozing within metres of elephants and cheetahs.

Brand new luxury lodges have been built into West Midland Safari Park’s redesigned animal reserves. There are eight of them and they all have incredible views of either the elephant or cheetah enclosures.

The six that look out over the African elephants are the only overnight experience of its kind in the UK. Which actually doesn’t feel that surprising, considering the country is more commonly known for animals like sheep, cows and deer.

The lodges sleep up to six, and a stay includes access to the rest of the safari park, plus dinner and breakfast.

You’ll also be able to watch the animals enjoy their feeding times from your floor-to-ceiling windows. But all the lodges are in secluded positions, so you don’t have to worry about feeling like a zoo exhibit yourself during your stay.

Already packing your bags? The lodges are currently available to book for summer 2021, and start from £171 per adult per night. Find out more here
