Foundation & Florida Ska Events presents:

A very 'special' ska concert is happening in Orlando this May 13th as some of the best of UK and American ska come together for a landmark show.

From the UK, is RODDY 'RADIATION' BYERS, lead guitarist of THE SPECIALS, the flagship band of the 2 Tone movement in the late 1970s/Early 1980s. He is composer of 3 of the biggests hits by that band, "Concrete Jungle", "Rat Race", and "Hey Little Rich Girl." On this tour he is being backed by the SCOTCH BONNETS from Baltimore in a set of his trademark mix of Ska and Rockabilly. A rare chance to catch a UK ska pioneer in Orlando!

From the USA, NYC to be specific, are THE SLACKERS. One of the most influential bands to come out of the 1990s NYC scene with their trademark, "Jamaican Rock N Roll sound." They are known for their classic Ska & Reggae hits, "Have The Time", "Wasted Days", "Sarah", "Married Girl" and a song catalog that now stretches into 100s of tunes. Unlike most bands from their era who have fallen off the map or just get together occasionally, the Slackers have remained on the road playing 100 plus shows a year for the last 18 years and continue to record new music (15 albums and counting). The Social has been hosting their shows since the mid-1990s and is one of their favorite places to play in the world.

From Florida, are the Duppies from Gainesville, who have been making a name for themselves around the state since 2004 and are about to release a new album that is sure to take them to the next level in national recognition.

And from Orlando are CONTROL THIS who are fronted by saxophonist, Jeff Richey, who played from many years with the Toasters. They are playing a set influenced by the sound of Jamaican classics from the 1960's and 1970s.

If you live within 50 miles of Orlando and miss this show, you are an idiot. Enough said."
