Foreshadowing is a pivotal literary device seen across all genres of writing in one shape or form. It can be used in several ways to interact with characters, plot, and even the reader. It is a tool the author uses to build suspense and sometimes mislead a reader through words, phrases, characters, plot and the world. There are several reasons and ways to include foreshadowing in your story by using characters, word choices and more.

About the Instructor:

Valerie Willis is a sixth-generation Floridian who launched her first book, Cedric the Demonic Knight, at the start of 2014 on Since then, she has been a go-to source for Self-publishing, Typesetting for print and digital formats, writing mentor, as well as continuing to release her own novels.
