Rethink Homelessness says
No Veteran who has served our country should be without a safe place to sleep. With that goal in mind, the Rethink Homelessness campaign has teamed up with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Homeless Services Network for an unprecedented "Surge" to end Veteran homelessness by 2016.

During the week of July 13, volunteer trainings will be conducted. Stay tuned for more information.

Over the week of July 20, the "Surge" count will take place across Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties. Community advocates will lead teams of volunteers into our communities to identify homeless Veterans.

The goal: to identify every Veteran in our region who is experiencing homelessness and help connect them to the resources they need to get them into a home.

Join Dr. David Swanson, Senior Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando, Andrae Bailey of the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness, and your fellow community members on June 30 for an informational briefing about this important initiative, and how you can get more involved!
