Hatha Yoga encompasses many different styles of yoga. Hatha flow yoga is a class blending traditional vinyasa flow and stretches focused on finding relief from frequent use of technology.

Class Description

We'll be moving steadily from one pose to the next, heating up our muscles, while sometimes holding for added strength and balance. Special attention will be given to the neck, shoulders, arms, wrists, and hands. These areas can become very tight and sometimes even numb from so much time spent texting and using the computer.

With encouragement to incorporate these stretches and exercises into your daily life, you will leave the class prepared to prevent and relieve pain and tension common to so many of us.

We will close class with a relaxing, breath-focused meditation.

Yogi Bio: Barbara Jo

Barbara spent her early childhood in Santa Monica, California, near Venice Beach. While yoga was gaining popularity on the west coast, it was her grandmother in a small town in Indiana who first introduced her to yoga.

After moving to Florida and working in an office for many years, Barbara began to experience chronic pain, anxiety and insomnia. Remembering how yoga helped her grandmother, Barbara started practicing, particularly enjoying more fast-paced classes. Later she found wonderful instructors who taught a combination of vinyasa flow, stretches, yogic breathing, and meditation. Yoga has given her so much relief, calm, peace and joy that she recommends it to everyone. After studying the history and traditions of yoga, she enjoys sharing her practice and is honored to have you join her.
