On Wednesday June 3rd, IDEAS will be hosting our monthly workshop, the Hive Orlando!

Join us as we explore the topic of BIODIVERSITY and some of the major threats to it, INVASIVE SPECIES (specifically here in Florida) and LIGHT POLLUTION!


We'll continue brainstorming a community-wide tree planting effort and Sustainable Music & Arts Festival to help the City of Orlando and Winter Park increase the tree canopy goals.

Our speakers this week are naturalist and former president of the Central Florida Herpetological Society, Jim Peters who will be speaking on his research on invasive pythons in the Everglades, and Derek Demeter , the executive director of the Buehler Planetarium at Seminole State College. Mr. Demeter will be discussing the effects of light pollution on our culture, society, and environment.
