Making homemade green cleaning products is fast, easy & inexpensive. In this class you’ll gain hands on experience making your own inexpensive, effective & healthy to use cleaning products using 12 common household ingredients. The majority of commercially available cleaning products, even those claiming to be “all-natural”, or “green”, contain synthetic chemicals, detergents, fragrances, dyes, petrochemicals as well as known allergens & irritants. Scientists are increasingly finding evidence that dozens of these harsh toxic chemicals found in household products like, anti-bacterial hand soaps, kitchen cleaners, bathroom cleaners, furniture polish & laundry products, to name only a fraction of the products used daily in this country, pass right through the treatment plants and into waterways across the country. We’ll discuss these toxic chemicals, the dangers they pose to living beings and the environment & discover available alternatives. Eliminating the use of these harsh toxic chemicals protects you, your family, marine life & the planet & helps us become more responsible stewards of the earth & its resources. You’ll create & take home an array of green cleaners and take home a booklet with favorite household cleaning product recipes. Each participant will make and take home a variety of household cleaning products, materials included in tuition of $60.00. About the Instructor: Donna Cirell has been interested in nature & respecting Mother Earth all her life. Since the 1970’s she’s been involved with food co-ops, actively protested the building of nuclear power plants & has been involved with different organizations & programs to protect Mother Earth, in those days it was called ecology rather than sustainability, but the focus remains the same, protecting Mother Earth and her resources. These interests made Donna acutely aware of the chemicals contained in the products we use in our daily lives and the dangers they pose to people, animals, our water & the earth. Wanting to protect herself, her family & the earth, Donna began making her own organic personal care products & medicines. It was this involvement & concern that prompted Donna to begin her formal herbal studies, evolving into a Community Herbalist was a natural progression. She’s honored to have trained with several of the most revered herbalists, spiritual teachers & healers of our time and including a proud alumni of the Florida School of Holistic Living. She continues to further her education having studied Herbal First Aid, Aromatherapy, Facial Diagnostics & Integrative Naturopathic Oncology & she completed her herbal teacher training with Rosemary Gladstar, the “Godmother of Modern Herbalism.” Residing in central Florida where she continues her work as a steward of Mother Earth, Donna is an avid gardener, a Community Herbalist, Flower Essence Practitioner & Reiki Master with her own herbal practice aiding people in achieving natural health & wellness through education, nutrition and plant & spirit medicine.
