Space exploration at its finest– on Earth! Traverse the terrain of Mars inside a first-of-its-kind immersive virtual reality vehicle created by Lockheed Martin.

The Friday, March 31, the Mars Experience will be parked at Orlando Science Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.! Guests big and small will be able to explore the Martian landscape from the safety of Earth.

Through virtual reality, you'll get the real feel of exploring 200 square miles of Martian terrain. High-definition screens and surround sound will mimic the landscape of the Red Planet, and you might even find yourself lost in a sandstorm.

This school bus boasts monitors on every window, graphics powered by five separate gaming PCs and surround sound so your virtual field trip is as real as possible!

After your adventure, stop in Orlando Science Center and check out our latest traveling exhibit Astronaut where you can learn more about what it takes to be a space traveler. From training to take off to daily life in microgravity, discover what real-life space explorers have to go through!


The first person to actually go to Mars is likely in school today! The Lockheed Martin Mars Experience is a part of their national education initiative Generation Beyond which aims to inspire students nationwide to learn and pursue the science, technology, engineering and math used in deep space exploration.


Lockheed Martin Mars Experience is open to the public and Orlando Science Center guests at no additional cost.

Astronaut is included general admission to Orlando Science Center which is free for Orlando Science Center Members, $19.95 for adults, $17.95 for seniors and students, $13.95 for children ages 3–11.
