MASON, SON of MA says
Öska (also known as Rapé) is one of the sacred medicines used in Columbia during traditional healing ceremonies. It is a snuff made from tobacco and other medicinal plants that is blown up the nose, helping to facilitate a calm and relaxed state. The effects vary depending on the individual, on who administers, and the dosage, but may include sweating, tears, increase of pulse, and in some cases, vomiting. These effects generally subside within a few minutes and then a meditative state is easier to reach.

The ceremony is one hour long and begins with Öska administration by Taita Pedro, who came to the US from Putomayo, Columbia two years ago to share his medicine to help awaken the consciousness in the North. He has 16 years of experience serving medicine and has been blessed to do this work by his grandparents.

After administration, Mason will sing and play guitar to help facilitate a meditative state focused on opening the heart. Rattles, drums, singing along and dancing are all welcome, or you can simply meditate. Mason currently travels around the country with Taita Pedro singing in his traditional ceremonies and has been working with this medicine for 6 years.

The cost of the ceremony is $20 including one administration of Öska. Additional doses are $10 each. Please bring cash only. You are encouraged to wear loose, comfortable clothing and to bring a pillow or mat to sit on although there will be some available if you forget. You must be 18 or over to attend the ceremony.
