The thrill of discovery prevails on March 17th from 6-9 PM at the City Arts Factory in downtown Orlando when Art for All Spaces presents Eureka! The Moment When Art and Science Collide. Eureka! features work that is informed or inspired by science and celebrates the magical ‘ah ha!’ moments that accompany both poetic and scholarly breakthroughs. Prepare to see works inspired by geology, entomology, osteology, astronomy, chemistry, biology and more, in this intriguing show that engages the eye and the mind in equal measure. Works by local artists as well as Advanced students & some Alumni & Faculty from Lake Highland Preparatory School will be on display, along with brief narratives (written by the artists) highlighting their interpretations of the theme. As with previous Art for All Spaces events, the opening reception of Eureka! will be followed by a special secondary opening featuring talks by guest speakers from the scientific and artistic community two weeks after the opening reception

Participating local artists include Ken Austin, Judy Batterson,Brian Barnett, Linda Brant, Patricia Byron, Janae Corrado, Marsha DeBroske, Peter Forster, Scott Frazier, Josh Garrick, Trey Harris, Cathy Hempel, Saulius Jankauskas, Irma Kirveliene, Erick D. Marquez , Richard Munster, Kayla Prommersberger, Danny Rock, Natasha Schaidt, Parker Sketch, Doris Smart, Bonnie Sprung and Megan Paquette Stepe.

Participating students from Lake Highland Prep include: Daniel Bastos, Warner Ransone, Sidney Porter, Caroline Fogg, Nicole Goldin, Emily Charles, Brooke Couch, Cliff Askew, Courtney Bastis, and Maddie Papalini. Participating alumni from Lake Highland Prep include: Alejandro Nodarse,Jill Smith, Claire Glenn and Laura Powers. Les Reese and Kathy Forster, both teachers at Lake Highland Prep, will also be exhibiting work.

Also dont miss our "Secondary Opening on March 31st where our featured speakers will give a talk concerning art and science and the relations to each other, Our Speakers are; SSC Professor Jay Spalding, Research scientist Jill Smith, and Retired Nasa scientist Ben Hirchenfang

This exhibit event is hosted by The CityArts Factory, DowntownArts District, and Art for All Spaces.
