Mental Health Association of Central Florida says
You are invited to join us for a one hour workshop designed to focus on how trauma can affect a person on a neurobiological level as well as in the behavioral sense. The goal is to familiarize participants with some of the basics in how a traumatic event can affect you.

Presented by Dr. David Cavalleri

The Reflections of Trauma workshop was developed after the Pulse incident to help educate our Central Florida community; it will touch on primary and secondary trauma, the possible ways in which a traumatic experience can affect you, and coping strategies.

Our primary goal from this workshop is increase your understanding of trauma. A secondary goal, but one equally as important, is a discussion of the ways in which you can cope with trauma, either by supporting activities you are already engaging in, or identifying other possible means of coping. These coping strategies can directly address negative responses in the brain, to promote healing.

Where: 320 N. Fern Creek Ave.
When: Feb. 21st from 12-1:30pm
(Please arrive early for refreshments)

This event is open to the community -- please RSVP to OUCAssistant@mhacf.org
