"Smudging" is the common name given to powerful cleansing technique from the Native American tradition; however, the burning of herbs for emotional, psychic, and spiritual purification is a common ceremony among many religious, healing, and spiritual traditions. It is a ceremonial way to cleanse a person, place or an object of negative energies or influences. It is also an effective method for energizing or blessing a person, place or object.
Students will be offered guidance into creating sacred space. This space allows the practitioner to safely let go and cleanse negative energies, thoughts, and emotions. Students will be introduced to the uses of burning incense, resins and herbs for healing and spiritual growth. Examples of sachets, and smudging will be shown. Students will have a short meditation in order to set intentions and get a hands on experience with Smudging, making sachets, and working with Essential oils. Students will receive educated guidance in understanding the use of incense, herbs, and resins as spiritual tools used in energetic cleansing or blessing of self, objects, and space.
This class will explore methods on how one can create sacred safe space in order to surrender and let go repressed emotions, faulty habitual conditioning, and stress. After the cleansing process the practitioner can invite blessings and set intentions.
