The event creator says
Prepare for an evening of FUNNY as we continue our popular open mic series ... But the evening isn’t just for comics. Writers, poets, storytellers, creative types of all sorts, too. If it can be written (by you, of course) and it’s funny then it can be performed on our stage.

Does it have to be laugh out loud funny? Not at all. It simply can be something that puts a smile on our face. Narratives, poems, shorts, blogs, storytells, whatever. Each presenter gets 6 to 8 minutes or no more than 1,000 words. Yea, we have a stopwatch and slide rule. And since everyone on the planet has word count on their computer, we know you know the length of your piece.

And why do we go to all the trouble? Because we want you to know at least one night of the month, you can go out, enjoy food or drink and come home with a smile on your face … perhaps muttering under your breath something you heard from our stage and cannot get out of your mind. We’re talking THAT KIND OF FUNNY.

Hosted by author, journalist, blogger, humorist and Hoosier, Erik Deckers. A former writer-in-residence at the Jack Kerouac House, Erik also will share his special brand of funny.

Free to attend, free to participate, free to enjoy. Still another presentation of Writers of Central Florida or Thereabouts...
