The Art of Celeste Brown

Celeste moved to Orlando as a teenager from Louisiana where most of her family resides to this day. She has studied art independently collaborating with artists like Steve Piscatelli, and Bernard Martin.

She finds the beauty in the bizarre, weird, or creepy. Her artwork is a whimsical mixture of light and dark elements representing the artist's personal feelings and reactions to her everyday life. In 2010 Celeste created artwork for the feature film; "To write love on her arms" was filmed primarily in Orlando.

“The Land of Nod”; is meant to be a window into the subconscious realm of the state in between waking and sleeping. Integrated in each realm and finds things coming to life and can observe them but not fully interact with them.

She'll create the feeling of losing control within one's body by submitting to the forces beyond one's self, to one's dreaming mind while still aware of the waking life it is leaving behind. In sync with issues that we repress, fears, our anxieties, and the dark things that comfort us and bring us joy in hope.
