Travelling becomes far more enjoyable when you see your hotels as part of the experience, rather than just places to sleep. If you’re travelling as a group – whether with family or like-minded friends – check out the newly renovated Pokémon Rooms at Mimaru. These spacious, apartment-style accommodations offer a relaxing retreat after a day of sightseeing, all while immersing you in the iconic world of Pokémon.

Mimaru’s Pokémon Rooms have been a hit since their launch five years ago. Now, they’ve been redesigned with even more Pocket Monster magic. The much-loved giant Snorlax plushie on the bed is still there, along with the exclusive Poké Ball-themed tableware and linens.

However, the new design features 100 different Pokémon throughout the space, from the walls and ceilings to the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens. They’re placed to reflect their habitats, too: Water-type Pokémon appear in the bathroom while food-loving Pokémon gather in the kitchen. It’s a playfully immersive stay for children and grown-up Pokémon Trainers alike.

Even better, guests staying in a Pokémon Room receive exclusive Pokémon-themed goodies created especially for Mimaru. Depending on your room type, you might score a laundry bag, pouches or stickers.

Mimaru is a popular choice for group travellers, thanks to its apartment-style layout and homely facilities like a kitchen and dining/lounge area. Some four-person rooms even come with bunk beds. If you’re heading to Kyoto with a group of six, Mimaru Kyoto Nishinotoin Takatsuji offers a generously sized 60sqm room that provides plenty of space for everyone.

You’ll find Mimaru’s Pokémon Rooms at four properties in Kyoto (Shinmachi Sanjo, Kawaramachi Gojo, Nishinotoin Takatsuji and Kyoto Station) and one in Osaka (Namba North). In Tokyo, they’re available at five locations: Ueno East, Hatchobori, Ginza East, Kinshicho and Ikebukuro.
