The Westin Osaka and Canelé To are bringing summer sweets and pastries to the food hall at Grand Green Osaka in Umeda

A curated food hall and cultural space in bustling Umeda, Time Out Market Osaka is dedicated to spotlighting the city’s and the Kansai region’s top culinary talents and food trends. For a few weeks in July, you can enjoy some refreshing summer desserts and pastries exclusively at this Grand Green Osaka venue.
July 7–31
The Westin Osaka has built a loyal following for the exceptional cream featured throughout its pastries and sweet offerings. At this limited-time pop-up at Time Out Market Osaka, pastry chef Yoshimi Kamekawa is unveiling the hotel’s latest dessert, crafted specifically to showcase that creamy indulgence.
While the Onikuri Chiffon has a delicate, sponge-like cake as its base, the cream is the focus here. By using his expert aeration technique to blend three varieties of fresh cream, each with a different formulation and fat content, the chef has achieved a texture that’s impossibly light and airy, yet rich and sumptuous in flavour.
This limited-time Onikuri Chiffon is available only at Time Out Market Osaka. You can enjoy the dessert on its own at ¥880, or order a set with iced tea for ¥1,320.
July 3–28
Popular canelé speciality store Canelé To is serving the trendy French pastry alongside frosty kakigori shaved ice at its 'Canelé To, Kakigori' pop-up at Time Out Market Osaka. Here, the canelés are freshly baked, allowing you to enjoy two distinct textures: crisp and fluffy when it’s still warm, dense and chewy as it cools.
To beat the summer heat, pair your canelé with a classic Japanese shaved ice. The pop-up offers five refreshing kakigori flavours, all featuring house-made milk and seasonal fruit syrups: mango, strawberry milk, kiwi and lemon, as well as matcha. Some of these bowls are even topped with whipped cream, making them as satisfying as eating a slice of cake.
Individual canelés are available at ¥380, but we recommend staying in the air-conditioned comfort a little longer with a canelé and kakigori combo set, starting from ¥1,880.
Aside from these two mouthwatering pop-ups, Time Out Market Osaka is also launching a new Happy Monday promotion starting July 6. So make sure you pop by every Monday between 5pm and 8pm, grab a beer at half price, and just relax while a DJ spins live from 6pm. It's the perfect way to rid yourself of the Monday blues.
Exclusive desserts, ice-cold beer at 50 percent off, and a cooling space away from the summer heat – now you have plenty of reasons to visit Time Out Market Osaka more often.
