The grand fireworks that enthralled visitors at last year's Osaka Expo will be restaged to rekindle the awe and wonder we felt at the six-month-long world's fair. Initially set for April 4 but was later cancelled due to severe weather, the highly anticipated event will now take place on Sunday June 7.
Japan Fireworks Expo 2026 builds on the dazzling displays that lit up Expo 2025’s Yumeshima sky, with organisers promising a show of equal, if not greater, scale. Wakino Art Factory, the pyrotechnic company that was responsible for the Expo's opening day fireworks, will be producing this event. The hour-long spectacle (7.30pm–8.30pm) will also include guest segments by Kishi Fireworks Factory, a finalist at the most recent Nishi-Awa National Fireworks Competition.
The organisers have revealed that there will be fireworks synchronised to music connected to the Expo. They will also launch size-10 shells, which are capable of producing panoramic bursts spanning more than 330 metres.
Japan Fireworks Expo 2026 will be held at Nishikinohama in Kaizuka City, Osaka prefecture. It's the only Blue Flag–certified beach in Osaka and one of just three in Western Japan. This prestigious international certification recognises Nishikinohama as a clean, accessible and sustainably managed beach.
On the day, the venue will come alive with food stalls, barbecue areas and a host of activities. The venue opens from noon, so arrive early to enjoy the festivities, and don’t miss the sunset at Nishikinohama, which is ranked among Japan’s top 100 sunsets.
Japan Fireworks Expo 2026 is a ticketed event with paid seating. Tickets are now available online, with prices starting from ¥5,000.
