More than 40 years after his death, Pablo Picasso and his works are still a hot topic of debate in the art world, veering from praise to criticism and back again. With this in mind, the Grand Palais has created a chronological exhibit taking in works from across the Spaniard’s oeuvre, considering the various criticisms fired at the artist and balancing this out by looking at the cultural significance of his paintings and sculptures. Picasso’s works will be placed side by side with works from his contemporaries (including Hockney, Basquiat and Lichtenstein).
