While they’d still rather have L'Oxalis to themselves, the residents of the 18th are by now accustomed to sharing one of their favourite French bistros with people from all over Paris. Gilles Lambert and wife Chantal, formerly of Amuse Bouche in the 14th, are in charge and as devoted as ever to working purely with the best seasonal produce, especially when it comes to game - a L'Oxalis specialty – and seafood. Lots of meat dishes make it to the original, reasonably priced set menus chalked up in the window and on the burgundy walls inside. A la carte is offered Friday and Saturday evenings. Quality is king here, including the service, which succeeds in being at once professional, friendly and caring.
