This exhibition shifts the spotlight to the artists behind the easel, showing us the photographic likenesses of Frida Kahlo, Georgia O’Keeffe, Isamu Noguchi, Piet Mondrian and Philly’s own Thomas Eakins. The museum’s extensive collection of photographs by Carl Van Vechten, an Iowan who took portraits of key figures of the Harlem Renaissance, are also be on display, some for the first time.
