The Singing Fountain

This grand spouting fountain is the epicenter of bustling East Passyunk Avenue, a place where neighborhood folks can grab a bench for lunch or after dinner and watch the street traffic go by. And yes, it actually sings. Speakers crank out music throughout the day that ranges from jazz standards from South Philly crooners like Frank Sinatra to current pop hits. The fountain also plays home to a farmers’s market every Wednesday from 3 to 7pm, where local growers bring in locally grown produce, meats and other treats.
