The music world is abuzz today: pop queen Britney Spears announced that she’s taking her recently shuttered Piece of Me tour from Vegas to the road, with dates happening across North America, the UK and Europe.
Those who’ve seen the schedule may be surprised that there isn’t a Philly stop on the list. Fear not, she won’t be too far away. The singer is playing the Sands Bethlehem Event Center, in Bethlehem, PA, on July 17; and two shows in Atlantic City, at the Borgata, on July 19 and 20. Both venues are about an hour-and-a-half-ish away, depending on when you hit the road.
Piece of Me, named for one of Spears‘s best non-hits, which takes on the media culture that sent her into a much-publicized frenzy in the mid aughts, will be full of the singer’s greatest hits. Expect early faves like “Oops!... I Did It Again,” “Stronger” and “Toxic,” and more recent numbers like “Work Bitch” and “Gimme More.”
Tickets go on sale for all three dates starting this Friday, January 26. Seats for the Bethlehem show are going for $99 to $150, while the Borgata is charging $199 to $349. Tickets can be purchased here on the day of sale.
