Band Of Brewers: Volume 3

Advertising

Time Out says

The last two years, local breweries have put together bands consisting of just brewery employees and rocked the stage World Cafe in a battle of the bands type competition. Year one, six bands took the stage and Yards Brewing Company aka Yeast Factory walked out victorious with the unforgettable metal performance. Year two we had seven bands and the competition got even stiffer with Philadelphia Brewing Co aka Brewtallica edging out Yeast Factory and the Neshaminy Creeks Weezer tribute, Say it ain't Foam in an incredibly close competition with their medley of Metallica covers. Here's video from all of last years performances: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLn6ILnZuTvuXN-h2s9pArsdXeZSAAwf9W This year, Band of Brewer is growing to nine bands and promises to be the best year yet. Many of last years bands will take the stage again, along with a handful of new ones. Our MC for the evening will once again be the one and only Curt Decker of Nodding Head Brewery. As with last years rules, each band will have the opportunity to perform 3 songs on stage. They can play any songs of their choosing, which can be either covers or originals. We will have a panel of “celebrity” judges on hand to critique their performances and pick a winner. The audience will be able to get in on the judging process this year as well, as each attendee will get to vote to cast. This years judging panel is being organized by JUMP, an awesome local magazine dedicated to Philly's music scene. The music scene judges are: George Miller: Founder/Publisher of JUMP Maxx Stoyanoff-Williams: member of Black Landlord John Vettesse: WXPN Alison Wadsworth We will once again be raising money for charity as well, as part of the proceeds will go to the charity of choice of the winning band. Each brewery will be represented by draft beers of their choice, so expect a pretty awesome lineup of local craft beer. World Cafe Lives normal full service bar will be open if you decide to drink something other than beer. There will also be food available for purchase for those who desire more than just beer to get through the concert.
