The event creator says
In her premier solo exhibition, artist Kelsey Stoler embraces the contour of an instinct. Her canvas offers an empathetic caricature, a raw transfer of a chance observation, unfettered by expectations. Features sprawl, bend, loop, curl and hold each other, fold and spill eye. A breast. A woman.

In a series of figure studies and portraits, each in her stream of consciousness illustration style, Stoler deconstructs the form of the living world. Her line work is lackadaisical, but not careless. Dreamlike, without whimsy. She composes a sometimes quirky and often staggering observation of her unwitting muse, as she merges thoughts, motives, time and color into a single form.

This is how Stoler makes sense of the world, stepping away from petty details and focusing on the the hum and spirit of her subject. We invite you to join us in making sense of the world on April 3rd, 2015 from 5pm to 9pm.
