Mlk Dare Coalition Meeting

Time Out says

The MLK DARE Coalition is in the planning stages of organizing an antipoverty march on Saturday, April 4, 2015. April 4 is significant for two reasons: King was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee where he went to stand in solidarity with Black sanitation workers and he delivered his first public antiwar speech "Beyond Vietnam," at New York's Riverside Church. As King courageously went to Tennessee to demand better working conditions for Black sanitation workers, we will demand a minimum wage of $15.00 an hour and the right to unionize with full employment. The Philadelphia Inquirer posted an article titled "Escaping Poverty" where the writer quotes about 400,000 Philadelphians live in poverty, including nearly four out of every 10 children. Which is clear evidence as to why we need a full, fair funding formula for public schools in Pa. It's unacceptable to have 400,00 people living in extreme poverty in one of the largest cities in America. We have to stand up and fight back! We need all hands on deck to organize and mobilize for this march! Join us this Saturday!
