Nearly 250 years ago, the revolutionary capital of Philadelphia was seized and occupied by the British for nine months. Independence Hall—the beacon of America’s burgeoning independence—was used as a prison. This weekend, the Museum of the American Revolution recreates those dark days with a living history event on its outdoor plaza, featuring dozens of costumed performers portraying soldiers, civilians, and spies in street-theater vignettes.
