Members (Mike Gent, Pete Donnelly and Pete Hayes) have been playing since the trio was in high school in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The Figgs tunes are stuffed with Kinks-inspired power and melodies, vibrant harmonies and sonic experimentation ala The Beatles and the The Band, the reach of NRBQ’s eclecticism, and a grit and youthfulness akin to the best rock bands from The Who to the Ramones. Since the rock outfit’s inception in 1987 the band has spent the better part of the past 25 years touring, recording and working on a variety of acclaimed side projects. There’s no question the Figgs are one of America’s most enduring rock ‘n’ roll bands. Their catalog is a testament to their sheer love of music, as well as their drive, energy and power as one of America’s greatest rock bands of the past 25 years. RADIATOR HOSPITAL Pure Pop For Now People. West Philadelphia. PAUL AND BERIL Back in the day if you wanted to see a good band, you most likely would have found yourself at The Khyber or even the North Star Bar looking to get your fix on whatever local or national rock 'n' roll endeavors were cultivating the music scene. It was a time when rock revivalists like The Strokes and The White Stripes were highly active. Out of Philadelphia came Paul Cobb's band, The Cobbs, who lived in London for some time while signed to Polydor UK, touring with bands such as BRMC and Kasabian. Meanwhile back in Philly, Beril began fronting the band East Hundred, who appeared on the scene with their catchy indie-synth-rock sounds and heartfelt vocal melodies. The two became acquainted at The Fire after an East Hundred show. Fast forward to 2015, Paul and Beril have combined their solo efforts in the form of a male/female duo that showcases their abilities as songwriters and experienced musicians.
