Philadelphia artists Keir Johnston and Ernel Martinez of Amber Art and Design, look to expand upon the "Table Alchemy" series of social practice based on the upcycling of found materials and food/nutrition advocacy. They will collaborate on this garden-inspired event with a group of local creative leaders, ranging in their practices of transforming foods/materials, that explores the complicated realities of the urban garden as both a source of better nutrition and communal interaction as well as a dividing point within transitioning urban communities. This event will feature live performances, locally sourced vegetarian fare, educational connections, and a view into the life choices and themes of artists on view in the galleries and conversations with Philadelphia-based urban gardeners working today. This is a limited ticketed event, 10$ for PAFA The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (P.A.F.A.) members and 20$ for non P.A.F.A. members.
