“A suite of abstract acrylic and encaustic paintings and sculptures inspired by my love of the rich, vibrant and melodic brilliance of the music of Billy Strayhorn. I embraced the concept of improvisation to create these works, which show the many moods and rhythms of his musical compositions. These abstract art works are created using color, form and luminosity to capture the “beauty of the spirit” inherent in his music. Billy Strayhorn loved a good time and he did so with elegance and grace.” – Charlotte Ka
