Tune in as we preview the Carnival Caravan and speak with Nationa Beats founder and our dear friend, Scott Kettner.

Nation Beat parades through the streets of Brazil with the distinct strolling swagger of New Orleans funk. They fuse NOLA second line rhythms with the thunderous beats of maracatu drumming to produce the vibrant force of their explosive live show, which is frequently known to burst into crowd-wide Carnival-style drumming and singing.

Nation Beat seamlessly bridges each cultures’ quintessential sounds through years of cross-collaboration and study - but you don’t need a degree in Ethnomusicology to get down at one of their shows. The Carnival Caravan, consisting of Nation Beat and the New Orlean’s Mardi Gras Indian/funk group Cha Wa, released the Carnival Caravan EP on July 31st, 2015 via Nation Beat Music. The Caravan will be rolling through the Northeast this summer, including appearances at Central Park Summer Stage series and Sun Fest in London, Ontario.
