An iRest Yoga Nidra workshop exploring the individual self; relationship body; and vast body of awareness. We will explore the push and the pull of individuality and togetherness forces from a systemic point of view. Concepts such as maintaining a steady sense of basic self in the body; as well as the freedom allowed from the viewpoint within awareness. These practices ultimately allow for greater ease of being, choice, emotional freedom and enjoyment of the process.

This workshop will include written materials, presentation of the concepts, the practice of iRest Yoga Nidra and the application of functioning positions in everyday life and relationships.

About Michelle:
Michelle began yoga and meditation over 15 years ago as a tool to manage stress. She has been teaching with a 400 hour certification for 6 years at The Iyengar Institute of Pittsburgh, formerly Yoga on Centre. She is Certified as an iRest Yoga Nidra teacher, has trauma sensitive meditation training with Warriors at Ease, and holds a Reiki Master Certification.

Her stress management program has been offered in corporate settings, with teens, at Mercy hospital: breathing for neurological recovery, as well as with veterans and the general population.

Michelle’s approach to the body/mind in yoga is also greatly influenced by the teachings of Dr. Murray Bowen’s Bowen Family Systems Theory. She has over a decade of personal study as well as two years of the basic seminar offered through Western Pennsylvania Family Center on top of continuing seminars, study and volunteering.
