Cioppino Restaurant is partnering with Whistle Pig Distillery to present “Pork & Rye”, a unique 5 Course Chef’s Tasting Dinner Welcoming Master Distiller, Dave Pickerell, on Thursday, October 13th, at 6pm, within the dining room of Cioppino Restaurant.

In addition to operating as a grain-to-bottle facility, Whistle Pig also raises a variety of livestock within their adjacent 1,300 acre farm, among which are their Mangalitsa pigs, a Hungarian breed of domestic pig which is known for its exquisitely marbled meat and pure white fat. In April, the Culinary Team within Cioppino acquired a Mangalitsa leg and shoulder, which has been curing onsite in preparation of the dinner.

The week of this unique tasting dinner, members of the Cioppino Management and Culinary Teams will be traveling to Shoreham, Vermont, to experience private tours of both the Whistle Pig Farm and Distillery, as well as shadow their distillation team to learn and experience the complete distillation process. They will return with an entire Mangalitsa pig in tow, which the Culinary Team will prepare and incorporate throughout the menu for this dinner. Additional acquired items will include rye to mill, as well as honey and maple syrup produced on the Whistle Pig farm. These ingredients will also be incorporated throughout the menu for this event.
