Enjoy the interface of Gaga, embodied anatomy, and improvisational movement scores. Soma/Gaga will accommodate the needs, interests, and appetites of movement-hungry individuals who wish to open themselves to movement in new ways. Dancers, yogis, and movers of all kinds and levels (over 16 years old) are invited to participate.

Gaga is a new way of gaining knowledge and self-awareness through your body. It provides a framework for discovering and strengthening your body and adding flexibility, stamina, and agility while lightening the senses and imagination. Somatic movement deepens your body-knowledge through the processes of embodied anatomy and developmental movement. In Letting the Dance In you will explore your sense organs as a means of sourcing new movement and relationships with others.

Mark Taylor directs the Center for BodyMindMovement, which provides certification programs in Somatic Movement Education, located in Pittsburgh PA, Eugene OR, and Mexico City. He has been influenced by his work as a dancer, choreographer, and dance company director, inspired by being the parent of a developmentally disabled son, and supported by thirty-seven years of meditation practice. He co-directed the Embodied Performing Arts certification program in London, UK and teaches somatic movement awareness in the US, Europe, Asia, and South America. He is a board member of the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association (ISMETA).

Maree is a dance artist based in Washington, DC. merrygogo is her platform for creating project-based performance works with communities of shifting collaborators. She has presented her choreographic work and facilitated movement experiences in the U.S. and abroad and has enjoyed working with a range of collaborators, companies and choreographers. ReMalia earned her MFA at The Ohio State University and is a certified instructor of the Gaga movement language.
