So whats Permaculture anyway? This one day class will provide curious minds with an introduction to permaculture principles, design philosophy and a variety of skills and techniques that can be applied in the farm and garden setting. Participants will have the opportunity to get hands on experience with soil building, water catchment, plant cultivation and more at one of the most established permaculture farms in the Portland area.

Vegan, gluten-free lunch will be provided.

Ian Mae is gardener, herbalist, youth educator and land steward at Tryon life community farm. He received a certificate in Permaculture Design through a course lead by Toby Hemingway and has studied with Missy Rhoss and Gradey Proctor at the Arctos School of Botanical Studies.

A shuttle from will leave from People's Coop SE at 9:15 am returning by 5pm. Please e-mail workshops@tryonfarm.org if you'd like to ride the shuttle. Some on Site parking available.
