Contact Dance Film Festival says
BodyVox and Northwest Film Center are presenting their Second Annual Contact Dance Film Festival this April.

This three day festival is a showcase featuring award-winning collaborations between filmmakers, dancers, and choreographers from around the world. Audiences can expect four different programs screening at the BodyVox Dance Center and the Whitsell Auditorium.

DANCE@30FPS: a collection of short films curated by Mitchell Rose including "Shift" (Rachel Lincoln and Amelia Rudolph), "We Came to Dance" (Tasha Blank), "Exquisite Corps" (Mitchell Rose), and "Home Alone" (Adi Halfin).

Dancing Over Borders: a collection of short films curated by Jamey Hampton that combines fresh emerging voices with seasoned artists speaking with authority through film. The evening is a celebration of beauty, vitality, and the shared human experience through the ever-growing art of dance on film.

Mr. Gaga: Ohad Naharin, artistic director of the Batsheva Dance Company, is regarded as one of the most important choreographers in the world. Meeting him at a critical turning point in his personal life, this spirited and insightful documentary will introduce you to a man with great artistic integrity and an extraordinary vision. Filmed over a period of eight years, director Tomer Heymann mixes intimate rehearsal footage with an extensive unseen archive and breathtaking dance sequences.

Broken: A stunning documentary that tells the intimate portrait of Simone Orlando, Ballet BC's lead dancer for twelve years, and how her life changed after her injury. This film is a one of a kind study of the devotion and dedication that artists, performers and even athletes and musicians bring to their vocation, and what happens when fate intervenes to threaten their life's work – and their identity. Directed by Lynne Spencer, this film explores the question "Can injury destroy a life's passion?"
