Birthday celebrations taking over the Pantry in Hazelwood

At some grocery shops, the goal is to get what you need and leave. The Pantry by Marble concept takes a different approach at their Hazelwood store. Located at The Village in Pretoria East, they offer groceries, freshly baked treats, prepared meals and coffee in a setting with a warm, farmhouse-inspired feel. 

And they're celebrating a year of bringing Pretoria residents all the good stuff on Saturday 31 October, with limited-edition doughnuts, an ice cream offer and entertainment for children. Pantry expanded beyond its original Rosebank petrol station location with the opening of its first standalone store in Hazelwood. 

Rather than the usual supermarket layout, the store features an open-plan interior, wooden ceiling details and carefully arranged displays. Alongside its bakery, deli and butchery, the store has ready-made meals and a section for gifts and homeware. The store also features a coffee counter and an ice cream bar, so shoppers can stop for a treat along the way.

Pantry has 250 limited edition doughnuts planned for its first birthday. There’s also a R2 000 Pantry shopping voucher up for grabs. Customers who buy a doughnut can enter the draw by submitting their receipt and with their contact details. The winner will be announced by Pantry.

Ice cream lovers can take advantage of a buy-one-get-one-free deal on regular servings in a cup or cone. Just note that toppings cost extra and pistachio and Lotus Biscoff flavours don’t qualify. There’s something for younger visitors, too, with face painting and a balloon artist on stilts from 10am to 2pm.
