In my memory, Jersey is always sunny. Of course I know it isn’t – although it does get more sunshine than anywhere else in the UK – but whenever I face a grey day in London, my thoughts turn to Jersey, the island of my birth. I picture the light bouncing off pink granite seawalls that frame golden beaches stretched out against an endless sea.
