Ingrid is a freelance journalist, author and advocate of all things sustainable travel and social tourism. Her travel philosophy is simple: ‘The charm of travelling lies in meeting people.’ Preferably on a budget, preferably spontaneous and ideally as far away as possible from umbrella cocktails, all-inclusive resorts and tourist buses.

Alongside writing features for travel magazines, Ingrid has spent years living, working, studying, backpacking and Interrailing her way through a long list of countries. After enough culture clashes and existential reflections on humanity’s peculiar habits, she eventually completed a master’s degree in anthropology in London – in an attempt to understand why people across the world behave the way they do.

And even though the world is always calling, her heart remains firmly anchored in Stockholm and its unique archipelago. Born in Gamla stan and raised on an island, she is passionate about showing the city from its most genuine side and guiding visitors to the hidden gems of the ‘Venice of the North’ that lie far beyond the Vasa Museum and FjĂ€derholmarna.
