In pictures: the City of London on a Sunday afternoon looking really quiet

In honour of this week's photography issue, documentary photographers Adam Middleton and Aaron Howes from lifestyle site Yin & Yang went on a mission to capture another side of our favourite city. The pair, who've shot campaigns for Nike, Adidas and H&M, share the story behind their snaps. 'While the busy streets of London keep us on our toes, it's difficult to explore our city without bumping shoulders with the commuters on weekdays or with the tourists on weekends. We are always on the hunt to capture moments that shed a different perspective on London, and with a little wandering, some areas offer just that. Bankers flood the financial areas of Bank, Tower Place and More London areas during the week, but at the right time on a Sunday afternoon, there's a blissful stillness. Offering a huge contrast to what we'd expect, it's a moment to spectate the rarity of the quiet times in London. With our cameras at the ready, we explored concrete spaces, empty roads and almost-empty walkways that made us appreciate the times when our amazing city takes a breather and soaks in the emptiness.'
