The California Automobile Museum's (CAM) announces its 31 Docent Training Class will begin on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 6 pm, 2200 Front St., Sacramento. Taught by subject- matter experts in automotive history, the CAM program will acquaint new docents with the Museum and the docent’s job, as both teachers and tour guides, of explaining to visitors the museum's story of cars dating from 1886 to the 1990s, along with exhibits illustrating automotive themes in American life.

Extensive prior knowledge of cars isn't required, but candidates should enjoy working with people, have an interest in sharing automotive history, and be able to donate 2 four-hour docent shifts a month following completion of the 20-week course. A $99 fee covers the extensive course materials, trips to other car museums, and a year’s membership in the Museum with newsletters and other information and benefits.
