Triathlon Club of San Diego says
Lionel Sanders is from Canada and was a talented high school runner who moved away from sport in high school and started hanging out with the wrong crowd. During college he took the money his parents had set aside for tuition and spent it on alcohol and drugs. It got so bad he ended up in detox numerous times and he couldn’t even look himself in the mirror when he brushed his teeth because he hated himself so much.

In 2010 he convinced his parents to pay for his entry into Ironman Louisville and to drive him to the race. He went 10:14 and his life was changed forever.

In November of 2016 Lionel Sanders put together a race for the ages at Ironman Arizona when he went 7:44:29, the fastest official Ironman race in history.

More importantly, these days Lionel Sanders has no problem looking at himself in the mirror.

Why?

Because he likes what he sees!

Come join us on Sunday April 2nd as Bob Babbitt chats with the amazing Lionel Sanders about his epic life journey
