Brown Bag Series: Lunches For San Diego Homeless

Advertising

Time Out says

GoFundMe.com/le3odw Hello fellow friends and family. I have created this Brown Bag Series, called Plenty of Love to help reach out to the homeless community, within San Diego. There are many homeless human beings in the streets of San Diego, who are looking for a nice healthy bite to eat. As Miss San Diego Gay Pride 2014, I am taking steps to fulfill my duties in community outreach. What better way to meet people than offering them great lunches. I am looking to raise monetary donations for supplies and food to make the brown bag lunches and also donate money to The Center San Diego LGBT Community. TheCenterSD.org I am fundraising for the month of February! The lunch handout date is still tentative however, I am looking to have it mid March. If you are available for the assembly line to make the brown bag lunches, please let me know, but like the event and posting you would be interested. **To donate go to GoFundMe.com/le3odw Ideally, I would like to create 300-400 brown bag lunches to be distributed to the areas of Hillcrest, North Park, University Heights, Normal Heights, and Downtown. With the money raised, I would like to donate what we have not used, for supplies and food, to The Center. This will be an ongoing series, which I would like to complete at least twice a year! I know very ambitious! I am holding this event near and dear to my heart, for I know what it is like to not have lunch available at home and relied on brown bag lunches passed out at parks and playgrounds, growing up. Now, that I am able to provide for myself and family, it is only right to pay it forward. So anything you can provide will help jumpstart this event. Even, if it’s a dollar, it is still a dollar closer to the goal! **To donate go to GoFundMe.com/le3odw Please share this with who you know. Even if you don’t live in San Diego, there are many who are in need! This is just the beginning! *********** “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
