CALL/TEXT Jeff Buckley from the Mayor's Office of Housing at 415-845-9053 TODAY! Ask him to step in to stop the eviction of Pastor Yul Dorn!

After months of Bayview residents calling on mayor Ed Lee to take action now to stop the displacement of the African-American community, Pastor Yul Dorn has received an eviction notice--and during the holidays, no less.

Pastor Dorn of the Emmanuel COGIC church, a second generation Bayview resident and public employee, is facing eviction after Chase Bank misapplied his payments, bungled his case and foreclosed on him, selling his home to a speculator, Quan He.

Now, Pastor Dorn is working to get Quan He to sell the home back to the bank and work with him to reinstate his loan. Unless the city steps in to help, he doesn't have much time. His eviction notice is set for January 6.

Given the city's history in aiding and abetting the displacement of the African-American community during redevelopment of the Western Addition, and its turning a blind eye to the devastation of the Bayview during the foreclosure crisis, the mayor's office has a particular responsibility to step in and make sure unjust evictions in the African-American community stop.

Call and text Jeff Buckley from the Mayor's Office of Housing at 415-845-9053. Ask him to step in and make sure to stop the eviction of Pastor Dorn until Quan He and Chase Bank can work out a just solution that keeps Pastor Dorn in his home.
