Are you looking for a way to spend time with your kids in a fun and engaging way while also encouraging them to appreciate wholesome food? Cooking with Kids at the Japanese Friendship Garden is a one-of-a-kind program in San Diego that offers plant-based cooking classes for your kids!

Cooking with Kids is a parent-participation cooking class that teaches kids the joy of cooking through an interative experience while providing them with an opportunity to develop a taste for nourishing plant-based food. Our Cooking with Kids class is a way for parents not only to bond with their kids, but also a chance for kids to create fun and easy plant-based recipes that can be enjoyed by the whole family!

Ages 3-12

Class Schedule:
May 26- There's a Rainbow on My Plate! (Pizza)
June 11- Roll 'em Up! (Sushi)
June 25- There's a Rainbow on My Plate! (Pizza)
July 2 and July 9- Cute Kawaii Bento Boxes for Kids
*Classes also include other hands-on activities!
$30 Members / $35 Non-Members
**Fee includes one adult and one child**

Instructor: Rachel Filtz
Rachel has a Master's of Education in Humane Education, and has over 10 years' experience teaching children and adults of all ages. She has a 4-year-old son who loves to cook with her in the kitchen, and who has inspired her to teach other families just how fun and easy plant-based cooking can be. In her free time, she likes to do yoga, hike around San Diego and spend time with her husband, son, and their furry family. Rachel is also currently pursuing a certificate in plant-based nutrition.
