San Diego Symphony says
Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a time when families and friends come together to pray for and remember loved ones who have passed on, and to help support their spiritual journeys. For this Día de Muertos concert, you'll experience and relive the music of some of the greatest Mexican musicians of all time, performed by San Diego's best Mariachi performers and special guests.

This special concert features the joyous sounds of Mariachi Champaña Nevin along with singers, dancers, a special appearance by Aida Cuevas (The Queen of Ranchera!) and hand-crafted alters for the community. Program will include special tributes to Juan Gabriel and José ‘Pepe’ Martinez.

We welcome ticketed guests of our Dia de los Muertos concert to enjoy a pre-concert celebration in honor of this special holiday. In partnership with Sherman Heights Community Center, the hosts of San Diego’s longest running Dia de los Muertos celebration, guests are invited to enjoy craft workshops, traditional face painting, dance lessons for children, and a community altar from 5-7pm. Food and drink for purchase will also be available. All ages are encouraged to join in on the fun and we hope to see you there!
