Spring into philanthropy with Fundraising Fundamentals, presented by Janeal Ford, MPA, CFRE, of Fordable Freelance. Janeal will be sharing what you need to know to harvest a fruitful fundraising program for your nonprofit charity. Participants will be provided an overview and pros/cons of all major fundraising techniques including planned gifts, major gifts, grant writing, direct mail, sponsorships and events. Come on out and learn the basics on how to solicit and secure that next gift.

Janeal has dedicated her time, both paid and unpaid, to creating connections that improve quality of life. In her roles as Development Director, board member and volunteer she has secured numerous “wins” creating the right connections with the right partners that have advanced important community initiatives. Under her direction, more than $50 million has been secured in government, foundation, corporate and individual sources for charitable organizations. Janeal received her Bachelors of Sociology and Masters of Public Administration from the University of Utah and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive. Janeal is the owner of Fordable Freelance, an organization providing fundraising consulting, education and grant development. The work of Fordable seeks to connect people’s passion to make a difference with the abundance found through philanthropy.

The featured nonprofit for this meeting is Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County.

The Nonprofit Speaker Series meetings are intended to bring together people who run or work for a nonprofit, people who want to start up their own nonprofit, businesses who help/contribute/fundraise for nonprofits and volunteers. Our mission is to educate the nonprofit community on how to grow and become sustainable through a series of talks by experts from various industries who are currently working in their field.

The format will be run like this:
5:30 mingling with light appetizers (come and hang out with like-minded people)
6:30 event starts
7:00 speaker
8:00 finish on time

Admission: FREE / contributions accepted at the door
