Ken-David Masur, conductor

On Mother’s Day, the San Diego Symphony pays tribute to women in music! Ken-David Masur conducts a fascinating (and perhaps overdue!) program of music that is either written by a woman or depicts a feminine character. All moms will get a token of appreciation at the end of the show.

Program includes:

HANDEL: Entrance of the Queen of Sheba
HOLST: “Venus” from The Planets
BIZET: Overture to Carmen
PRICE: Mvmt. III (“Juba”) from Symphony in E minor
BIZET: "Farandole" from L’Arlesienne Suite
ROSSINI: Cavatina (“Fate is Cruel”) from Italian Girl in Algiers
WAGNER: "Ride of the Valkyries" from Die Walküre
HIGDON: Peachtree Street
VON BINGEN: Nunc Aparit Nobis
