Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego says
"Part open house and part happy hour, Downtown at Sundown is your ticket to an evening of all-access culture."
– Karla Peterson, The San Diego Union-Tribune

On the third Thursday of every month from 5 to 8 PM, Downtown at Sundown offers free entry at MCASD Downtown, exhibition tours, and DJ-spun tunes. At our next event, on January 19, young artists will both show their work and perform! Students from the Chula Vista School for the Creative and Performing Arts participating in MCASD's Extended School Partnership (ESP) program will display artworks they created after exploring our past exhibitions Papel Chicano Dos; Beautiful Landscapes; DeLIMITations; watching, waiting, commiserating; and The Uses of Photography. Dancers from the Malashock Dance Junior Company will perform two dance pieces, at 6:15PM and 7:15PM, choreographed by Nicole Carriker and Natalia Hill. The exhibitions on view during this Downtown at Sundown are Dimensions of Black: A Collaboration with the San Diego African American Museum of Fine Art; Jennifer Steinkamp: Madame Curie; and Tristano di Robilant.

In addition, enjoy free entry at the nearby SDSU Downtown Gallery, drink specials at the adjacent Stone Brewing Company Store and The Flight Path Wine Bar & Bistro, a food truck and more.

Exhibition tours of the MCASD galleries will be offered at 5:30 and 6:45 PM.
