This is a weeklong dance experience that will also include visual art and music components. Students will learn from specialists about Bomba music and dance (Puerto Rico) with Jade Power Sotomayor, Belly dance and snakes with Sabrina Fox, Capoeira with Ilana Ventania, Break Dance with Daniel Aparicio, Venezuelan dances, Salsa, Merengue, and more. Students will learn a choreography to a song by B Sides players and Latanya Lockett and may have an opportunity be featured in an upcoming music video. They will also dig deep into the context and history of traditional dance and music and connect them to other aspects of culture. We will have some fun garden botany and outdoor play as well as visual art activities
the full day option is for kids entering grade 3 and up!
CHILDREN ENTERING K-2 :HALF DAY OPTION cost is 100 for the week 9-12 pm on Friday it will be 9-330
I have now added an option for this age group to stay all day on Tuesday and take African drumming. There is an additional cost of 25 dollars to stay all day on Tuesday.
