AUGUST 1 - 5, 1PM - 4PM
GRADES 4 - 8
Street Art Camp teaches students to combine traditional street art-making forms such as stencils, airbrushing, wheat pasting, and—of course—stickers. Emphasis is placed on collaboration, and educators reveal the do’s and don'ts of creating proposals for public art projects. This camp will culminate in the making of an approved project for a local business or the City of San Diego.

Street camp will be led by San Diego artist Jason Gould. In addition to being an educator and the owner/curator of North Park staple Visual SD, Jason is also the founder of Visual Art Project: a public arts project that is making San Diego more colorful one electrical box at a time. Jason received his BFA from Herron School of Art/Indiana University and MFA from California State University at Fullerton. His current work borrows from pop art, 1980s neo-expressionism, graffiti and abstract expressionism. Jason has worked as an adjunct professor at San Diego City College teaching freehand drawing, and at the San Diego Art Department and Coronado School of Art teaching drawing and painting.
